Birds Afraid of Hand

User Question
I printed out your step by step hand training instructions and the first step works, well... sort of. You see, my birds don't fly around and watch my hand in the cage. Since this is going on, I decided maybe I could try the next step. But even though they don't be insane, when the perch/I come close to them they start getting scared. Of course I talk softly, change food and water, move calmly, put music on, the whole enchilada. But they still dont want me to come near them Even though they let my hand be in the cage. Any advice?

P.S. They can come on the the perch once, but only for a milla second and then fly off! :o

Lisa's Answer
Hand training isn't instant. It is about the birds learning to trust you. Trust takes time. If they don't trust you yet, keep building the trust! There is no magic wand. You can't force a living creature to love you. You have to prove you are gentle, prove you are friendly, and be patient.
