Parakeets and Clay Bells

Can you give parakeets clay bells?

I have no idea what a clay bell is, how would it make any noise? :) It doesn't sound like it'd do much harm - it's just mud after all - but it doesn't sound like it'd do much good either. Parakeets love to gnaw, and they love to make noise. So they like metal bells and wooden things to gnaw on.
