Males and Females
User Question
ok i have two keets and i thought that i have a male and female i know they are young but the one that i think is male is going a little crazy his beak is like a white with a tint of blue and the one that i think is a female is like a lite purple a tint of blue and pink not really sure but the male is playing with the other keet and making noises all the time and looks like he is kissing the other keet and he also rubs up against her and tries to go under and above her but the one that i think is a female moves away as the male is tring to rub against her is this normal for a female or does that mean that she is actually a male? i have notice the male rubbing his beat across the post and so has the female is that normal? but if the one that i think is female ends up being a male wouldn't the other male know that he is trying to mate with another male? this might sound a little confusing so if you have any questions let me know thank you!

Keets like to snuggle with other keets, they don't necessarily care if they are male or female. It's like you hugging your brother or sister. Keets are flock animals and really like to be snuggly with their flock. Its how they don't feel lonely. I would take the keets to a vet and find out for sure what their genders are. If they do end up being male and female, you should either keep them apart or have a long talk with the vet about how to care for a breeding pair. There are vitamins and equipment you will need to make sure they stay healthy and don't have issues with a stuck egg.
