Summer Drafts and Winter Drafts

User Question
I have a question regarding keets and drafts. I've read keet care books that say to keep them out of drafts. What is meant by this? Are they referring to just cold winter drafts? Are they talking about open windows in the summer? This will be my first summer with my little guys and I'm having a heck of time figuring out where to put their cage if I can't have them near a window. Thank you for this site. I've learned so much from it!

Lisa's Answer
Really they just mean cold winter drafts, like the kind that make you shiver. In the summer, a gentle breeze can be just the thing to keep you cool and happy. Think of your keet as a toddler. Gentle temperatures are fine, but frigid cold breezes require a hat and scarf :)
