Greetings!

Taking care of baby animals is a very serious responsibility. As a responsible pet owner you need to make sure you have the medical equipment and knowledge ready to help out in an emergency, and be able to be there 24 hrs a day during the actual raising of the chicks. You should have at least one book on parakeet breeding on hand, to answer specific "what do you do if ..." types of questions. You should have both parents checked out by a trained veterinarian to ensure both are healthy enough to care properly for their chicks.

Keets lay eggs every 2 days or so until they reach a standard clutch size of about 6. The eggs incubate for about 18 days and then hatch in order.

In general, though, PLEASE make sure you go and talk to a vet personally. A far off website should never be used for a situation that needs 24 hour care and prompt attention. It would be like writing a website because your child is choking on poison and you want to know how to save your child. Please separate the keets until you can get the vet appointment and book and medical supplies, so that you do not end up with eggs before you're prepared.

So get an appointment immediately with your vet, sit down for 1-2 hours, have a long talk, and get the books, medicines and equipment necessary if you are choosing to breed keets.
