Keets and Poodles

i just got a parakeet 3 days ago. he won't come out of his cage when we stick our finger in the cage to get him out the only way we can get him out is if we grab him. when he gets out he bits really hard.

we also have a poodle that always is around the cage will that have something to do with it. as it i meen the way the parakeet acts.

Three days is hardly any time at all! It takes weeks to become friends with a keet. They don't just instantly bond with the first person they see :) Work on the training daily!

Definitely keets will see predators as ... predators. Cats and dogs are naturally predators. You should try to keep the dog away from your keet, if they are going to learn this is a safe spot ...
