Log Kills Birds

I had 5 keets in a very spacious cage,recently I purchased a log for a nest they worked on it until hollow,however i woke up to two dead birds and three eggs. any ideas on why and what may have caused this? They weren't sick birds I keep a very clean cage fresh daily good diet, i'm basically at a loss, i've had one of the birds for 3 years and the other for almost 2.

A vet would be the first person to talk to - especially if you have 5 keets and have already lost 2 of them. It could be an egg binding situation. It could be a toxin in the log. It could have nothing to do with the log, and could be related to something else. Only a vet could know!
