Parakeet Hearing

User Question
I would like to know are the parakeets hearing really sharp? Tell me how sharp their hearing is?

Lisa's Answer
Keets are not predators. They have no need for sharp hearing, they don't use their hearing to track down food. They only need the bare minimum to know that a predator might be sneaking around. So while humans can hear from 64hz - 23,000hz, parakeets can only hear from 200hz - 8,500 hz.
