Parakeets and Moulting

I've been reading your website for a couple of weeks now and i've read a lot about molting. I think my bird is molting and I was just wondering does a parakeet get cranky when they molt? Thanks!

Yes just like babies get cranky when they are teething, keets get cranky when they are moulting. The little itchy head feathers grow in and cause them a lot of trouble. It's wise to give them extra tasty seed and veggies, lots of sleep time and a great deal of patience. If they are hand trained, most keets love to be scratched during this time!
