Keet has Hole in Beak

User Question
I have two keets a male and a female... i had a bell hanging in the top of the cage on a small hook that resembles the latch on a dog leash... my female climbed to the roof of the cage and ended up with the hook going through the lower part of her beak will the hole heal itself and will she be ok as long as she can still eat and drink? I appreciate your help.

Lisa's Answer
Yikes NEVER put an item in a keet's cage that could puncture a beak, and ALWAYS call a vet immediately if your keet gets injured! Keets have very tiny bodies, they need close care when they are injured so that they do not get infected. Call a vet!
