Parakeet is Scared of Hand Training
User Question
I put paper under his cage, what's the difference between that and the bird litter? Which one is better?
Also, his wings had already been clipped when we bought him, I'm not thinking about clipping them again. How long do you think it would take for him to be able to fly again? And since I can catch him easily, I let him out of his cage almost everyday even though hes not hand trained. Hes very scared of me but he comes on my finger when i hold it up to him, but he always tries to go back to his cage. So he's not afraid of me but doesnt want to come out of his cage I guess.

Paper is just paper. I don't know what you mean about paper and bird litter? This stuff is just collecting bird poop, it doesn't matter what it is ...
You shoudl NEVER NEVER let a keet out when it is not trained. That is a recipe for death and disaster. Only let a keet out of its cage when it is fully trained. If a fire or something broke out, you need to get your keet into its cage, and the cage to safety. To do otherwise is to be an irresponsible owner.
