Biting is a Sign of Stress

My parakeet is always biteing me how can i make him stop i had him for about 4 months now and in the beginning he never bit me how is that is it becuse his parakeet friend flew away but then i got 3 female birds for him and he keeps biteing me please help me

Wow, if *I* had to share my cage with three brand new, untrained females I'd be super stressed out too! How big is this cage? Life in a group is always going to have its ups and downs and it sounds like your parakeet is not having a good time.

Did you just add all these parakeets to his cage at once without any 'getting used to them' time? That is really rough on a parakeet.

I highly recommend getting him his own cage to give him some peace and quiet. Then follow the instructions on my site to slowly begin hand training him again, to teach him to trust you. Spend a lot of time with him. I think once he has his own safe, quiet home where he isn't surrounded by 3 girls, he'll get more friendly with you again. Then you can give all the keets their 'out of cage time' (assuming you have the other 3 girls hand trained of course!) and the keets can all get used to each other. In time they may be happy in the same cage, but it sounds like right now they are not.
