It's important to note that this container says that this is a "snack or reward". This should NOT be fed to a parakeet as a full, normal diet. Oats and groats are the long, thin seeds that some parakeets love, but some parakeets just don't like. They are a very specific type of seed. It would be like you eating nothing but strawberries for breakfast, lunch and dinner :)

It's a nice idea to put some out for your keet every day for a week or two, and see if your keet is indeed one who feels these are a treat. As treats go, they are pretty healthy! They have good nutrition in them. But this is just one part of a healthy keet diet, which should include other seed types as well as well as veggies and protein sources.

My keets enjoy these as a treat, and I have them as a part of the general rotation of food my keets get to eat.
