Avon very much wants to promote their representatives. After all, their aim in life is to help women work from home and run a business, by selling quality products at a fair price. Therefore, they do not want those representative to be "undercut" by having other reps selling the exact same items at half price on eBay.

Therefore, the Avon terms of service say that Avon reps cannot sell their items at discount prices on sites such as eBay. Those rules exist to protect Avon's reps, so that people do in fact feel it's of value to work with them and to support them.

If you become an Avon rep, you sign a contract which indicates that you will not engage in such activities. If you violate those terms of service, it is grounds for your dismissal as a rep.
