Bird Breeding

Compared with cats, dogs and horses, birds are relatively inexpensive to buy. You can get a pair of budgies for only $30. Birds are also relatively quick easy to breed. If you start with a bird type that is pretty friendly and inexpensive - say a pair of budgies - there isn't a lot of investment. If you're able to then breed a special color, say purple, you can make several hundred dollars per bird that you sell.

I *highly* recommend talking with a vet, talking to breeders in your area, and getting a few books on the breeding basics. You want to be as comfortable as possible with your chosen bird type before you start encouraging them to breed.

If you love pets, this could be the ideal occupation for you!
