Celtic Dragon Celtic Polymer Clay Journals

I am a great fan of the Celtic culture. I've been to Ireland several times, have written a book on Irish romantic customs, and love Irish music. I enjoy having journals with Irish themes to them.

Celtic Dragon Polymer Clay Journal

This Celtic Dragon journal was created with green polymer clay. I ran it through the pasta machine. Next I used a mold from an eBay shop to create a circular celtic Dragon design out of gold clay, to put on the cover's center. I created textured around the edges with a celtic stampl. I carved out the holes on the left before baking.

For the insides, I began with sheets of 3.4" x 3.4" memo paper, colored yellow, then trimmed it down to 3" square with a paper cutter. I have a Swingline hole punch that is great for creating two holes evenly without any fuss. Then comes the connection. These brads are from Michael's fabric store. They are H and P, in honor of the Harry Potter book I'd just finished.

I hand curled a stretch of wire into a spiral for the bottom right corner, it's a signature I like to put on my journals.
