Avon Solutions Pore-Fection Skin Refining Mask

The Avon Solutions mask comes in a 100ml container, which is a nice size. Many times if you get a large mask container, half of it gets dried out before you get to use it. It makes much more sense to have a few smaller containers, and only open up a new one when you can get through it in a reasonable amount of time.

The mask itself was very odd - it had gritty granules in it. In essence it was a scrub - mask blend. You were supposed to rub it on your face for a minute, then let it sit on your fit for 15 minutes. In general, I really like it best if a skin care item does one thing, and does it really well. If this substance is a scrub, getting the skin bits up from your face, I'm not sure I then want it to sit on my face. I'd rather scrub - rinse off all that dead skin - then put on a mask to pull up the gunk that's in my pores, now that the skin layer is clean.

The mask is grey-green in color, a little gloomy looking. The aroma is OK - fresh, but nothing identifiable.

The mask itself dried quickly - but was a bit difficult to get off again. You have to scrub a bit to get it off.

I love masks, and if I didn't have an alternative mask around, I would certainly use this one. It isn't bad in any way. But since I do have other masks that don't have scrubby bits, that have a nicer aroma and look to them, I wouldn't go with this as my first choice.

I can't tell you the number of times I have had this sequence of events happen.

* I really need a mask, my face is feeling icky. Great, here's one in my medicine cabinet!

* Hey, this mask is all scratchy!

* Oh right, this is the scrub mask. Oh well, I guess it's too late now. Now my face feels all scratchy.

Not only that, but it looks like Avon has pulled this product from their site. I imagine others must have been as underwhelmed with it as I was!
