There was a Gold card and up reception in the theater but the "Champagne" they served was so awful it was pretty much undrinkable. There were lots of glasses left behind mostly undrunk. And no food.
We ate at Chops Grille tonight. I had the tuna and it was delicious. The mushroom soup was also great.
Gold reception, meeting the crew.
There were lovely blue-green-brass sculptures along the stairs at the theater side of the ship. Here's part of one.
Sadly, near the end of the day the captain came on the intercom. He said there was substantial unrest in Haiti about the upcoming elections, including riots. He said that locals in boats had been encroaching on the Royal Caribbean private beach. Royal Caribbean had pulled all of their personnel off the island as a safety measure. So we weren't going to stop at Haiti tomorrow. We were just going to sail around at sea. This would give us a few more hours in San Juan on the following day, though. They were not going to add in any other ports to make up for this.
Things happen! And I feel sad for the Haitians who are having to deal with all the corruption.
